WHAT IS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT?National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. National Night Out will celebrate 33 years of bringing the community and police together to make each neighborhood a safer place. This year several police departments from around central Indiana are participating. Below is a list of departments participating by county: Brown County Nashville – Oct. 4 on Main and Jefferson from 5-9 p.m. Bartholomew County Columbus – July 30 from 5-8 p.m. in the Lowes parking lot.
